ORIGINAL POST

From the UtahSBA Board,

The impact the Coronavirus is having on our ability to work, play, and live our everyday lives is unprecedented. As a result of the pandemic, Tooele County has extended gathering restrictions to April 30th. This means UMC is closed throughout April and will require the cancellation of the events that we had scheduled: Round 1 of SuperMoto, the USBA test and tune, and the NRC.

Even though Round 1 of the Masters of the Mountains is scheduled after April 30th (May 2-3), we as the UtahSBA Board have decided it wouldn’t be wise to hold this event so close to the scheduled end of the gathering restrictions. This was not an easy decision to make, but we feel it is the right one.

If you have already registered for Round 1 Sumo, Round 1 M.o.M, NRC, ART, or StreetGP, your registration will be cancelled and a credit will be issued. I know that this unforeseen national emergency has severely impacted all of our members financially and this will be a difficult race season for most of us. It’s my hope that you all love this sport as much as we do and that you can still find the means and ability to come out and make this a memorable race season. Registration for the following rounds/events will open on Monday.

On another note, our V.P. Tom Dark is relocating for his job and will no longer be able to serve on the Board. We will miss Tom and his contributions to the UtahSBA. Starting this Friday, April 3rd we are opening up a 7 day nomination period for a new V.P. We will be relying on our club members like you to take an active interest in the nomination of a new V.P. If you know of anyone that you would like to nominate (yourself included) please email us at secretary@utahsba.com. Nominations will close on April 10th and the election will immediately follow. Voting will take place electronically and will be open from April 11th to April 18th. An email will be sent out on April 11th announcing the candidates and it will include voting information.

Thanks,
Eric Jones, President
Utah Sport Bike Association

In the meantime, PLEASE support our sponsors this year! Without them we wouldn’t have a club! It takes many generous businesses donating to our club to make it financially possible for us to exist as a club and race at one of the Nation’s premiere facilities. Our 2020 sponsors have signed up and paid for the season already, so we want to continue to “Support those that support us”.

This would be a great time to order some parts or a new bike or get some service done with one of our great partners.
